The Republican State Leadership Committee recently announced their Top “14 in ‘14” list of GOP women running for state office this November. The RSLC selected just 14 candidates from a list of 558. The selection not only highlights the importance of taking back Senate District 10 for Republicans this fall, but also the dedication and grassroots efforts of Konni’s campaign.
The 14 campaigns, including Konni’s are all part of the “Right Women, Right Now effort to highlight the growing strength of women and women candidates in the Republican Party.
“Right Women, Right Now” is co-chaired by Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, Tennessee Speaker Beth Harwell and Washington Secretary Kim Wyman.
“Through ‘Right Women, Right Now’ we are proud to have 558 new Republican women running for office to make our statehouses stronger across the nation,” said Kleefisch. “Time and again, women have proven their leadership within their states to help enact policies that grow the economy, balance the budget and support job growth. I’m honored to announce our successful recruitment and top candidates at the RLGA National Meeting and look forward to working with my fellow co-chairs to get these outstanding women across the finish line in November.”
“Our party and, more importantly, our nation, must increase the number of Republican women in state-level office to bring needed voices to debates on job creation, education reform, healthcare and the economy, and ‘Right Women, Right Now’ is critical to achieving this goal,” said Harwell. “I commend the men and women across the nation who helped us identify outstanding talent, and look forward to working together to elect more women to office this fall.”
